REVIEW: Since You’ve Been Gone by Christa Allan

Olivia and Wyatt’s wedding day opens the story.  Wyatt, though, never makes it to the wedding as he’s in a car accident and killed before the marriage takes place.  Distraught Olivia soon discovers she’s pregnant.  Her parents and grandmother, along with a few friends, shield her from the awfulness of her situation.  Extremely judgmental, her mother is disappointing in her lack of compassion toward Olivia’s pregnancy.  She makes sure Olivia knows that it is a sin to have this burden.  Geez, how is that supposed to help!  Olivia’s love for her mom runs deep; unbelievably deep considering the rejection.

Olivia’s friends Mia, Bryce and Evan provide the support she needs to get back on her feet.  A new friend, Laura, pushes her toward healing.

I enjoyed the story and look forward to reading more from Christa Allan.  Thanks to Waterfall Press for providing me an ARC for a review in my own words.
