REVIEW: Driftwood Tides by Gina Holmes

Driftwood Tides follows Grace (Libby) as she searches for her birth mother after learning, at age 25, that she was adopted.  She finds her birth mother’s husband.  Holton is a talented driftwood artist yet alcoholic wallowing in the grief of losing his wife, Adele, to a car accident.  Tess is his long-time friend and art studio assistant who is in love with Holton, though he is unaware of her devotion.  A financial disaster is the turning tide of the story as Libby sticks by her maybe/maybe not birth father and works with Tess to devise a plan of action. Side stories in Driftwood Tides are Libby’s relationship with Caroline, her adoptive mother and Libby’s tenuous engagement to Robert.
