Hope Yoder and Logan Parker come from worlds which are poles apart. She is a widowed Amish woman in Holmes Country, Ohio. He is a crime writer from New York City. When Logan faces burnout from his work, his manager encourages him to take some time and time to regain his focus. Logan feels drawn to Holmes County and quickly finds and buys an old Amish homestead. Hope enters his life when he needs a housekeeper for this large home. Each of them is facing personal obstacles. Luckily the friendship that ensues helps them both move past some hurdles. Their attraction to one another, though, becomes an even greater obstacle as the story progresses. This contemporary novel does a good job of highlighting Hope’s concerns and also Logan’s change of heart.
