REVIEW: A Stubborn Sweetness and Other Stories for the Christmas Season by Katherine Paterson

This book is a compilation of several short stories by Katherine Paterson.  It opens nicely where she encourages readers to share her stories with others if they can be used to promote goodness.  Admittedly, some of the stories appealed to me more than others.  Several of the characters are challenged through the story to find their way back to Christmas.  The stories are uplifting yet they reveal the brokenness that so many people live with all the time.  I think the book is best read in pieces.  I found it to be similar to picking up an issue of Guideposts magazine.  Lots of inspiration with a Christmas theme.  The one story that best stuck with me was the one about the pastor’s daughter who wants a good part in the Christmas pageant.  Read and absorb the healing and revelation of these stories.  Nice job.
