REVIEW: Shades of Mercy by Anita Lustrea, Caryn Dahlstrand Rivadeneira

Shades of Mercy is an excellent story set in the 1950’s in Maine.  I admit that I never thought that race relations would have been an issue in Maine.  But, Native Americans in that area were disregarded by the entitled, in many cases.  This book opened a new chapter of history of which I had been unaware.  It was written from the point-of-view of a 15 year old young woman, trying to figure out the world and why it was so unjust.  Shades of Mercy is worth your time.  Thank you to the authors for sending me an advance copy to read–I really liked it.
